EMI barrier

A bank i worked in for a while had a mu-metal plate installed above a large transformer, as it was making all the CRT monitors nearby on the floor above go squiggly...

I seem to recall the plate was big, heavy, and expensive, and a pig to install, but it did work.

Of course, what they needed was a time machine so they could have had LCD monitors that were just a few years away...
