The only thing we use in the Metro Chicago are is EMT, NM is not allowed at all. We have found a simple device called a fish tape helps to get the wire through the pipe and past the bends.

Found easy way to do sharp corners in emt.Push wires thru first then with foot holding pipe at needed spot just bend it .Works great and saves time. :D

..but sounds like a code violation:

300.18 Raceway Installations.
(A) Complete Runs.

What exactly do you mean by " sharp corners"?

Shhhh! Don't let that cat out of the bag, or else Klein will start making special electrician work boots. Then none of us will be able to afford to put 90s in our EMT. :)

Next time we are running 3 " EMT I will try and remember this niffty move.

What is it that you really do for a living ??

You always come up with some bizzare stuff , please explain these sharp corners ...........on second thought don't bother because its obvious you don't have a clue on what your doing it the first place.

Sounds like you have been running some 1/2'" EMT in the past week and in over your head with the whole project from couplings, to straps.

Why offer idiotic methods like putting wire in a conduit and bend with your foot ??? That is really some bad information that no one should even listen to and for someone who claims to have held a masters card at one time It's hard to believe you would even think like this, then again I could see you doing this .......I would love to see some of your installs "Mr. I only do commercial electrical work".

"...I will try and remember this niffty move."

A fellow musician! NIFF is "Notation Interchange File Format," and niffty is a java applet that allows a composer to disply NIFF formated music.

How clever of you to hide this subtle message in a thinly veiled flame.

So, what instrument do you play?

Sounds better than the way I use to do it. Using plumbing elbows. I mean really. If we weren't suppose to use plumbing fittings, then why do they make them with the same thread???

Maybe the same threads per inch but actually not the sams the tapered thing is there  All kidding aside I have seen 1000`s of pools done without the first fish tape and they use the knee to make all kicks  PVC just does what they want when bent this way

Well if you say its a Aprils Fools day joke then I really fell for that one.

It just sounded so consistent with some of the things you make claims to I could see not see a difference.

If you had said "Tampa has just passed a ruling that all 15/20A duplex devices shall be installed ground UP in both dwelling units and commercial applications." you would have gotten some takers :)

Better luck next year.

Yes, this is a code violation see 358.24 NFPA 70, 2005 (NEC). Article 358 deals specifically with EMT.

In addition see 300.17 and 300.18. 300.17 ,when re-read these seem to indicate that any single conductor or number of conductors may not be installed into a raceway (this applies to EMT as well) where the installation or removal of those conductors in accordance with 300.18 would result in damage to either the conductor or its insulation. Also from the bending method described, I would assume that the resulting bend would result in a bend radius less than permitted by code.
