EMT CONDUITS

Dears ,
our consultant advised that all conduits in patient rooms should be EMT and this according to N.E.C code even so it will be inside the walls
are consultant correct? and not allowed to use PVC conduits ??

In patient care areas wiring methods must comply with 517.13 - the raceways or cables used must qualify as an equipment grounding conductor, as well as contain an insulated equipment grounding conductor giving you a 'redundant' equipment grounding system.
