Emt for hot tub need a ground????

Hello and thanks for reading. I am going to be wiring a hot tub and am running emt in the basement. Do I need to install a green ground in the emt or can I use the emt as a ground. I know for pools you need a continuous ground back to the panel, but the code does not say much for a hot tub. The emt will be in the house (basement) and I will be installing a 4 11/16 in the basement then switching over to pvc to get me outside, or I might run emt to the disconnect. Not sure yet. My state is also in the 2005 code yet.

Hot tubs are wired as pools.

680.42(C) is where you will find the answer...which is yes, you will need to install an equipment grounding conductor as per the above referenced section.
