C chris white Member Location Pennsylvania Feb 25, 2004 #2 Re: Emt Grounding In Basement I would say no. See 250.86 exception 2. You're just using the EMT and box to protect the phone cable, and if it's not likely to become energized by anything else, 250.4(A)(4) wouldn't apply.
