EMT Stub-Up

If you had to run a lot of 1-1/4"( any size for that matter) EMT stub-up from wall data outlet to right above hung ceiling would and the distance was only 7', even with the hook into the ceiling would you cut a 10' stick of conduit to length or use use the 10' stick? THink it might take more time to cut/ream rather than just installing the 10' stick. Hey I'm not even sure maybe a 10' stick is required to get you from outlet to above hung ceiling.

We make a short 90° and cut to length. I've seen guys leave 3' of hook in the ceiling and it always seems to get in the way of something, particularly duct work.

I also try to keep it as short as possible to both stay out of the way and also long enough to connect to in the future if needed. It's also nice to not have to loop cable back down to run or secure it if needed.
