I came across this link http://www.hielectrician.com/ and was wondering what the code is for supporting EMT when running thorugh metal studs? Thanks.
Metal studs are on -- at most -- 24 inch centers, can't imagine EMT horizontal support is a problem. Vertical support can be done by fabricating scraps of the studs into "between stud" blocking, or buying all sorts of nifty widgets.
I've also used EMT temporarily to channel AC/MC cable through metal studs. Makes pulling easier.
So horizontally there is no code or support?

The stud is permitted to support the EMT and securing is required within 3' of a termination.
I thought it was obvious. hmy: With the studs on 24 inch centers, you more than meet the requirement of every 10 feet.
358.30 Securing and Supporting.
(B) Supports. Horizontal runs of EMT supported by openings through framing members at intervals not greater than 3 m (10 ft) and securely fastened within 900 mm (3 ft) of termination points shall be permitted.
Thanks Inf. What is usually used on a metal tud to secure within 3'? I'm sure something from Caddy but I was curious what you thought.
