First lets start with gfi protected,YES thats final any receptacles outdoors even those in a enclosed patio are required to be gfi protected.Second the cover required,that depends on the actual location of the receptacle and local ahj.Here an enclosed patio is considered a damp location so a wp cover is required,any receptacles that are on the exterior of the residence must have a in use cover if subject to direct contact with water
