End Of Line Resistor

Have fire alarm system that is Class A(return loop) but they are showing end of line resistors for many of modules and relays? Does this make sense? Also are the EOL's mounted in the device and not stand-alone? Thanks,

Depending on the manufacturer, the EOL may be installed at the panel for a Class A circuit, but it would definitely NOT be in the field, unless the Class A loop originates at a module in which case it might be installed at the module. For other manufacturers, Class A doesn't use an EOL.

Not sure how the loop would start at the module.

If the module is a flow or tamper you need the end of line on the module to supervise the module and device. READ the instruction packed with the device.

Part of the module. It is an end of line for the module.

such device would need to be only device in the zone or at least be the one installed at "end of the line". You can't have more than one end of line in any zone.
