Enforcement of GFCI Protection - HVAC Units Extended ! This was caused by Mini Split HVAC units causing "Phantom Tripping". See NEC Attachments for explanation.

I think the same exceptions should be allowed for refrigerators, as well as HVAC systems, if not almost all hard-wired equipment.

I agree ! ... The standard GFCI & AFCI were designed for inside and outside wiring. As the TIA stated a small boy got killed from a HVAC unit. The Electrical Industry needs to design a special device for this HVAC specialty compressors - electronic controlled motors.
