Enforcing unadopted codes

This goes back to the question yesterday about the alum 60 degree colum. If NC hasnt adopted some of the codes why are AHJ's are inforcing them
 
Have you asked them that question? if so what did they say ?
 
no but i asked a 4question yesterday about using the 60 degree colum for alum and someone mentioned that NC will decide on 1-1-09 if they will adoped that code. just like ark faults.

SE being used as SE is still 75 C, it is only when you use SE as NM that it is 60 C.

IMO it would be very hard to justify SE being used as NM as 75 C when NM is 60 C.

SE being used as NM is exposed to the same issue of being buried in insulation.
 
I have no problem using an allowance that a future code will permit, but I would never require compliance with a future requirement that has not been adopted. For example, if a new exception is in the 2008, which we haven't yet adopted, I would permit it.
