Abbreviation for "circuit" is ckt? Is that correct?

Abbreviation for "circuits" is ckts? Is that correct?

I would like to see a new topic on your page called "Electrical Terminology"

I have seen both of those abbreviations used. But there is no real, universally-accepted, industry standard set of abbreviations.

Your suggestion is noted.

I always CIR for circuit because I see no need to use a letter that's not in the word. ;)
 
I usually use CRK for plural on the drawings. If it's a report or spec I write it out.

i.e. -----------> CRK 23,25,27

To be honest though I don't think it matters. (I was gonno say can't think of a reason anyone would care, but then I read Infinity's post!)

I've typically used ckt ... but the company standard where I'm at now is cct.

I prefer ckt ... since that's what's familiar ... but when in Rome ... :roll:

If you are the engineering designer then the abbreviations are what you say they are. Don't let your head swell from the limitless power at your disposal. :D

When I was designing, the first electrical print showed all of my symbols and abbreviations. That way if someone wasn't clear on something in the design, all they had to do was flip back a few pages to see what I meant.
 
I use "circuit", ... after all we are only talking 7 letters here :grin:

Beyond that I favor a legend to explain abrievations since they vary so much from company to company and person to person.
