Commissioning a system, everything is fine except when it asks me if I have consumption CT's I say NO. Now it keeps saying its incomplete and I need to set up the consumption CTs. I go thru it again and click the NO button, but it doesnt seem to like my answer. Am I doing something wrong? Should I lie and tell it yes I have consumption CT's?

I always install consumption CT's, so have no experience without. When you install with them, it goes through a calibration process, so I don't think lying about it will work because it will not be able to calibrate.

Is the customer location info accurate? As California switches to almost all installs getting batteries which require consumption CTs, the app designers may be forgetting or failing to set the thing to make the consumption CTs optional when they should be. I'm assuming your install does not have batteries.

Correct, no batteries. It does ask, yes or no if I have consumption CTs

You'll also notice that in the customer-facing side of the app, if you select no on consumption CT's -- they'll get an alert that discusses the benefits of consumption monitoring. They fail to mention how many panels are impossible to install CT's on, at least on the west coast where it's an all in one.

We have been asked by some installers it we will allow them to put these in the meter base box.
I said no, but was overruled (undermined) by a VP.

This will likely go away (at least on CL200 meters) once the new IQ Collar comes out.
If we allow it to be installed.
It's getting to the point where these devices are becoming inaccessible.
It's the reason we put locks on the Meterbases for Solar.
Too many installers like to cut seals without calling.

Which devices?

What does that have to do with why you should allow a meter collar or not? Are they doing that for line side taps? Wouldn't you prefer to have a clear process where you install the meter collar for the installer, which otherwise reduces the likelihood they would need to pull the meter?

Will the device be readily accessible?
How would you work on or replace this device should it go bad?
That's the initial problem I had the CTs in the metercan. Those CTs are not readily accessible once we lock it up.

Would you allow me to take your wallet out and put it back at will?

More than likely it will be allowed. It's just becoming a maintenance nightmare. You got to think.. we have 55,000 meters. And individual solar is heavy on our system. I think we are somewhere in the 500-600 range.
It seems like every week someone is calling because their system isn't working, or something is broke, and they can't get the installers to return their calls.
We end up having to shut the system down for the members because no one with the solar company ever bothered to train the customer on the system they purchased.
all the solar companies want to do is get the money and run..
