I know that ENT is not allowed in a direct burial situation, but I've seen it done all around in Washington. I have asked other people in the trade and they say that's it's allowed, but the 2005 NEC says no in 362.12 (5). Does anybody else see it in direct burial. I have travel outside the counrtry alot, and other countries love it. You see it all over the place. I think everything in the Bahamas that is new uses it.

Re: ENT

What type of wire/cable are they using might be using it as a pull sleve with under ground rated wire or cable. to change out wire latter if they need to

Re: ENT

If the cable inside the ENT would otherwise be permitted for direct burial by itself, the ENT is just "sleeving" to permit ready removal and reinstallation of the cable in the future and not a raceway. For instance, a 12-2 UF cable in a 1" ENT.
