I would like to bring a 2" pvc conduit into the tip of a type 3R wireway. Is there a legal way to do this, either with a myers hub, or a regular pvc male adapter with a o-ring? The inside of the wireway would be used as a junction box, no live bus.

Thanks

Technically you cannot use a terminal adapter with a Myers hub. You could go Myers hub to close nipple to PVC-RMC adapter.

Yes that's it.

As ridiculous as it sounds most hubs are only listed for those conduit types in EF's post. So screwing a terminal adapter, EMT connector, SE cable connector or something else with a straight thread is a technical violation.

RMC has tapered threads but don't RMC couplings have straight threads?

Although it's hardly ever enforced, (at least in my area) the PVC male adapter has straight threads and the hubs have tapered threads. They thread in but don't seal well.

I've never seen a PVC male adapter that has straight threads. Most I've seen have tapered threads. FYI, a "PVC-RMC adapter" is called a female adapter.

Carlon makes a product of neoprene O-rings for this application. Unfortunately limited in trade sizes, and not regularly stocked at supply houses.

Heyco also makes a product line of nylon sealing washers. I haven't seen formal documentation on its listing, but I have seen other manufacturers (SMA), specifically instruct you to remove the washer from flex connectors and replace it with this one, when connecting to the top.

The male adapter with the O-ring and locknut would be the best way to go, even though it's the worst choice for a weatherproof installation.
