Here's a question I have always wondered about but never asked. (Ain't the Internet great)...

Whats the difference between an Equipment bonding jumper (EBJ) and an Equipment Grounding Conductor (EJC).

Related question: Metallic conduit may be used as the EGC on the load side of the service disconnect by 2005NEC:250.118(1)/(2). But does 2005NEC:250.102D/E require an equipment bonding jumper be installed inside the conduit?

Re: Equip Bonding Jumper vs. Equip Grounding Conductor

Article 100 definition of "Equipment Bonding Jumper." What I understand from this, is if EMT is used as the equipment ground, an equipment bonding jumper is used to keep continuity of the EGC all the way back to the source if there is a break in the EGC for some reason. I don't know if I can site a real world application of where this is used...maybe the bonding between EMT that is used as the EGC and the service disconnect bond to the grounded conductor? :D

I am wondering if this term is also used when the EGC is bonded to a metallic piece of equipment likely to be energized, or if that is another term?
