If I need to penetrate a compressor equipment enclosure or even a control panel for armored cable pass-thru, using cable glands with seals, does that affect the NEMA rating of the panel or warranty of the compressor equipment?

Everything is located indoors.

Thanks

Theoretically it could, but it depends on the details. Usually you need to use a fitting of similar rating to maintain the rating. There also may be restrictions on where you can penetrate. If the rating is greater than required for the application, it may not matter much.

What do the equipment instructions say to do? That's pretty much what it always comes down to.

You would need to check with the manufacturer about the warranty.

I used to work for one of the big manufacturers and it would not have been a problem with our equipment as long as done competently. (Don’t drill though an oil line ).
