Equipment in middle of electrical room

For a small electrical room (by that, I mean following section 110.26(C)(1), where you have equipment less than 1200 amps / 6 feet in width, can you place a transformer in the middle of an electrical room? Does it trigger any requirements such as having 2 means of egress, or can I stay with 1 means of egress only? I understand I have to meet all clearance requirements between all electrical equipment.

A transformer should not change the 110.26 requirements. As long as your working clearances are maintained you should be fine
