Equipotential Bonding

The pool equipment was moved and the pool steel grounding conductor is not long enough to bond the rest of the equipment. Can I use a split bolt connector to exend the #8 bonding wire from the pool to the equipment?

The #8 bonding wire used in pool bonding installations may be spliced using approved methods. The last time I looked, split-bolt "bugs" were approved for such use.

It seems that most pool inspections I go to the bonding conductor is usually one piece and all around the pool. It would save time and money if they only knew/understood that the bonding conductor for pools is not required to be "unbroken and unspliced". How often do I hear "your kidding, all the other inspectors want it in one piece". Get to know the code and save/make some money/pride.

There are some jurisdictions (Calvert County, MD for one) that require the unbroken bonding wire scenerio.

At least, I found out the easy way (they told me before we did the install). Some others were not so fortunate and had to redo their installation.
