Can someone tell me if this software company is still operating? I have not seen any kind of recent activity on their website or any recent posts MH, FB or Twitter pages.

Yes it is in business, the program is about to be upgraded shortly, so it will have quick books integration and such, and it will work on other tablets besides iPad's .
 
It is still a valid business with many clients. As Leo said they will be upgrading the software soon.

I have been a client of ES2 for more than 2 years and been very happy with the software and their support.
