escalator pit disconnect switch

My client has asked us to design a local disconnecting means for the 480 volt feeder to the escalator control panel in the escalator pit. My question is: does it require the same working clearances as a normal disconnect switch would have at this voltage - 42", or is it different because of it being in the escalator pit which is small?
