This is how some people say to bid on here sometimes isn't it? just take other peoples numbers and beat them. Hope they knew what they were doing, so I don't end up with less money at the end of the month than I stated with, because I only started with $5.

I gave another EC a "hand" doing a job. He got the job from his "friend" who told him: "If you can beat the other guy's price by $500, the job is yours!"

Well, this EC had NO CLUE about running pipe...I tried to convince him to use larger pipe and larger conductors to get a break on the labor, ie instead of 20 3/4" EMT runs with about 9 #12 conductors in them, run 30 #10s in 1 1/2"....he was shocked that I would make such a statement!

The amount of labor involved in running those 30 +/- 3/4" runs would not have even come close to a few runs of 1 1/2".

He lost his shirt on this job...and as a bonus, his "friend" stiffed him on payment.
