I was just wondering in which way any of you guys would respond to this.

"Jason: Please see the attached competing proposal and let me know
if you can match pricing for scope of work in options #1 (basically
the bath remodel work) and option #3 - upgrade and install new 200
amp service, relocating subpanel to new main service, and bath
remodel.
Please contact me as soon as possible to discuss."

So he sent me the exact copy of the competing proposal from another E.C

I thought this was wrong since I would not be happy if a customer sent a exact copy of my proposal to competing electrical contractors, so I turned down the job in a nice and polite way.

Good for you Jason. Problem is that he also sent it over to 4 or 5 other competitors of yours and one of them probably is not made up of the same good caliber you are. There is no good way to squash this type of pesky bug called GC. Step on one and they mutate into two more and scurry off.

Jason good for you. I wish more people were like you. Everyone has there on price they need to get in order to make a profit. Every contractor has different overheads which make there profit margins different. All my customers call me because of the way I do my work and call and keep the communication open. I never worry what anyone else charges although I enjoy seeing what other charge to see if I am in the ball park and also on this form seeing what everyone charges in different states compared to N.C. I think I would let your competitor know he is shopping his price around.
