Ok here's the case:
HO bought this house that hasn't have power for a while.
Calls for POCO to turn it back on, fails safety inspection.
I have to bring it up to code. This involve the following:

JOB 1

- Straightening out panel box. ( loose connections, overfused circuits, old
unused circuits, remove feeder to shop, Install some romex connectors, etc.)
- Track circuits and Label them
- Provide GFCI protection for 6 countertop recep. (don't how many circuits they make up) I'll be installing GFCI recep. as long as the boxes are big enough if not i'll install GFCI breaker.
- Provide GFCI protection for 2 recep. in 2 bathrooms (same as above. 2 per bathroom, 4 all together)
- install 5 batery operated smoke alarms.
- Go under house and strap loose wires in crawl space.
- Inspect recep. and install wire nuts where they just twisted(pigtailed) ungroundedn and grounded conductors in box before receptacles terminals.
- Remove old overhead cable to shop (They used meter base as pull thru box) remove the whole cable.

I think that's it but as you all can tell some tedious work. And I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling from HO either, he seems to be very cheap, this is gonna be a rental place or he'll try to sell it guess. He made me show him my lisence and requested my agent to mail him proof of my insurance.
Anyway this is my estimate:

JOB 1 -Material & Labor : $1,430.00

JOB 2
Provide the garage with Power. Already has a 60 amp panel box install.
-Run 100' of thwn under ground in LFNC.
-Go thru brick wall, under groun to shop up the outside wall, to inside shop and then to shop panel box.
-Require to have some driveway busted.
- dig up trench (about 60')

Materials include:
400' thwn #4
100' LFNC
Assorted fittings
straps
2 LB's or Weather proof Boxes
60 amp double pole Breaker.

JOB 2 estimate
Materials and labor (me and a helper), $ 1,650.00
What do you all think about this prices?
Thanks.

If you are going to have to pull and check receptacles for gounds and maybe crimp them I would offer a deal to replace at the same time.

They are probably old and worn out anyway and there really isn't much added labor so any you make on the deal will be more in your pocket and doing him a good turn in the process.

Find out if he is going to rent or sell because replacing with T/R recetpacles could be an advantage to him either way.

I can see the owners point. All he wanted was to turn the power on. I would do just the minimal amount neccessary. And do it "time and material".
The driveway part would be time consuming. The rest should go pretty fast.
Are you running copper to the garage?
#2 AL direct burial would be cheaper.
