How would you estimate the completion of a 12 x 12 x 4 NEMA 1 J Box that may have a variable number of wire terminations? Let's assume there are 24 connections (joints) to be completed with red wire nuts.
On page 197 of the 2019-2020 MLU it indicates 1.25 hours as the LU for this type of box and pg 143 indicates 0.06 LU. Based on 24 connections the total would be 2.7 hours to complete this box. This could be one way to complete.
Is there an easier way to do this with the MLU? The MLU does indicate that "Lugs, splices, cable terminators labor must be estimated separately". I am considering that this may be caught in other parts of the total estimate so maybe the method above is not necessary.
Any insights would be appreciated.
