It has been quite a while since I terminated a 48 port cat 6 patch panel. Assuming your cables are dressed in and ready for termination how much time would it take to terminate a cat 6 patch panel mounted on a rack?

I can punch that panel in 384 punches.

Sorry couldn't resist.

If it's all you have to do 8 hours, 1 hour in 6 hours working and 1 hour out. If you have to test each one when your done. add .5 hours per cable.

It would be about 5 -6 Leaning on 6 just because things never go perfectly. allow some time to test. 1/2 per cable to test could be a bit much. I suppose depends on the testing proceedure. Are you doing a performance test?

.5 hours per cable is taking into account that with 48 cables having one or two to fix is not out of the norm. Especially if you are punching both ends that's 696 wires to punch.

I used 6 hours for the work but added time in and time out out of habit. Most of the cat V and VI work I do is in Government facilities and badging in takes time.
