Re: estimating software

I agree, Accubuid is good, I prefer ConEst. They have some neat code tools, and substitution tools as well. Estimation is Ok if you like a bogus windows environment and want to be stuck with their "Pad" and templates instead of a mouse and a keyboard, and McCormack is just an overrated spreadsheet with "Macros"?..Boring!!
If you a small guy, Vision will work ok for 1000 bucks, but for 2500, the ConEst is the Cadilac for a Lite system.

Re: estimating software

I'm using Vison's EBM 3K. It's a little quarky, but they have decent tech support and it figures an accurate estimate

Re: estimating software

I had Conest for close to 5 years, it never worked for me because I just could not learn it. Conest pretty much refused to give me support after they had my money, of which was $6500 by the way. McCormick Systems came down, offered to buy my Conest, then promised me excellent support. I bought it, they did !!....Conest may be a little better software, but McCormick's support is excellent, I actually use it to bid jobs now instead of wishing I could like with Conest. Maybe there are better out there, but the support is #1 of all systems !!
