Hello there!

This is my first post, but I have been lurking on the forum for a few weeks.
I'm a UK electrician and I know this is a US electrical forum, however I have seen some screen shots of a few domestic (residential) estimating spreadsheets that some of you have made. I'd like to do the same thing, although obviously the items I use will be totally different to yours.

I have been looking at the few pics that celtic has posted with interest. I notice that he isn't around anymore, so I can't ask him any questions regarding how he's set it up. I'm not here to scrounge anyone's hard work, it wouldn't be of much use anyway, because I'd have to totally change the items and the assemblies to suit UK materials etc.

I was wondering if any of you wouldn't mind showing me some pics of your spreadsheets so I can get a feel for the layouts etc, with which to make my own.

Sorry if this is a cheeky request, but UK sparks don't set up spreadsheets in the same way to my knowledge, so it's kinda new for us. Also estimating software is a bit thin on the ground and what is available is hugely expensive to the one man band.

PM me your email address, and I will send you my spreadsheet.

I'm a big fan of creating your own spreadsheet using others' ideas - by building it yourself, you understand what exactly goes into a number. Since device prices are pretty constant among the most popular colors, I built mine to just call a receptacle a receptacle, and then I make mention of a standard color in the proposal that bases it's information from the data in the estimating sheet.

George and ptonsparky that's very kind of you to offer me your spreadsheets. I'd love to see them and see what I can make for myself. I seem unable at present though to send you PM's. Would that be because my post count isn't high enough or something? I know some of the UK forums I frequent have such restrictions.

I can't seem to send you one either. Check your profile settings, just because I don't know what else to tell you.

Post a few Nonsense posts to get your count up to 5 or so. It will take a bit of time for the software to see it and then you can pm. George should be able to see your email in your profile.

The host has a downloadable copy of the subject matter in excel in the columns on the left of the home page.

Or here (I beleive)... OK I was thinking out-loud (or referencing) about the Residental Calc. which one can use and see the equipment accounting! Just the same look at;
