Can some one recommend any good books on estimating and take off's. I just wound up passing on a decent sized commercial job because I have never had to do large estimate and didn't fill comfortable with my numbers ( there were other factors too, staffing and meeting their schedule)right now I mostly do small service jobs, that I can get in and out in a day or two and can figure in my head. I really want to grow my Company and move up into larger commercial work and Know I need a good system/method set up but I have always been an out in the field guy and not sure where to begin on a larger jobs. I know eventually I will move up to software but I think I should get a better basic understanding of how to do it by hand first.
