we need some help with regards to our current bidding software.

Currently we are using ESTMAT2000 but have noticed that some of our parallel keys are not working anymore. What are our options at this point? Is it possible to find replacement keys? has anyone upgraded from ESTMAT to more modern software? thanks

I believe you are probably out of luck. I used to have it also, but the company went nitey nite (sold) several years back. It used to be from "Software Shop"
As far as I can tell the new owners of Software Shop's products do not support Estmat any longer.

I've never heard of estmat. We are having a forum on conest and accubid in this thread. Keep in touch and you will probably get some good advice.

the keys are DS1405, I have seen many wholesale semiconductor vendors carry this part, if we were to purchase some of these "dallas keys" from these vendors could this work? I would like to update our software but I am unsure on how to go about doing this, or what software we could use that would allow us to pull our jobs from ESTMAT to this new software. Any help would be great.

I have Estmat2000 version 1.23, the last version before the co. was bought out. This version has a material substitution feature for the audit trail. Be pleased to send you a copy if you wish. The program is no longer supported by any pricing update service that I know of. But I still use it for all the jobs I put out. Also I have not been able to get it to work on WinXP. Let me know if you have been able to get the program to work on XP or a PC more advanced than Pentium III.

Geac is the company that purchased software shops. But why continue to use software that you can't update and get support for?

Estmat 2000 is a good OLD Dos program, but Conest is the next generation. I consider Conest excellent (for what its worth) but I have only had experience with Accubid, Estmat 2000 (certified trainer) and Conest. I am sure every estimator has their own preference. I like to use assemblies and Conest allows me to do that but Accubid does too.
