Hello, I have been unable to find documentation on how to configure MSG instructions in a MicroLogix 1400 to read status data and write commands to an Automation Direct DuraPulse GS3 drive. Surely this has been done, but the web has yielded no results. Does anyone here have experience with this?

Thanks!

I assume you have the Ethernet adapter for the drive, right? Did you try the manual for the VFD? It has instructions for how to get started, but of course, you then ALSO have to look in the Micrologix manual on how to configure an Ethernet communication packet in a way that the DuraPulse Ethernet comms card can understand.

manual for the GS3 indicates that it offers ethernet connectivity to some AD PLCs over some proprietary protocol (I'm guessing), or it also supports Modbus/TCP, which the Micrologix 1400 is capable of. You have to enable Modbus TCP in the controller settings and then in your MSG block there will be a read coil/write coil or read register/write register instruction.
