To the point....EV.jpg So if we are 208V , does it have to be 3ph?Or are they simply saying if 208 3ph system? think i got it now that i have read it a few times. TIA
 
You only connect two circuit conductors to the EVSE. The manual is saying that if those two circuit conductors are 208V apart, they must be at most 120V to ground. So they have to originate somewhere upstream from a 3 phase wye system.

The case being ruled out is using B-N from a 240V 3P4W high leg delta.
