EV Charger off garage sub panel fed with AL

Hi, had some EV Charger wiring method questions.

Most or all EV chargers require copper conductors. If a detached garage has a sub panel fed with aluminum then then running copper from sub panel would be fine?

I know most services are AL so I get that its the same thing.

This instance would be #6 AL feeding garage. Then #8 copper feeding car charger on a 40 amp breaker.

It’s fine. The reason for the copper wire requirement on every EVSE I’ve seen is due to the lug rating.

I’ve seen aluminum used for the branch circuit when the run is a long one, then a j-box near the EVSE where the last few feet transition to copper.
