Does anybody have experience in troubleshooting evacuation alarms ? I work at a plant that has a voice command alarm and at our last test part of the system did not work. We had a tech from the company come in (I did not meet him) but I heard he was not much help. The system is an Atlas soundolier. The problem appears to be out in the plant but it looks to be a troubleshooting nightmare with j-box after j-box and multiple conduits leaving each one. Is there a ohm meter or other tests that would start narrowing it down a little. I was told that when the test was done that the speakers actually worked, they were just very very quiet, now our plant is running and its hard to hear someone screaming in your ear over the other noise. I have never worked on this type of system and cannot find much for help on the internet, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
