Has anyone used the Evans Bender? What do you think? Since we mostly run 1/2" to 1" emt our guys say it would save them a lot of time on the job. The current cost of one is $1,150. The website is www.evansbender.com

Do you have a way of measuring the time that it might save? It might save you three minute on each offset over a chicago style bender, because there is no "layout" to do on the pipe. Three minutes of time saved (using my numbers for my biz) is 2.45 dollars saved. Using that logic, I could pay for that offset bender in 469 offsets. How long does it take you to bend 469 offsets? Mind you, not everyone's going to use it. If I'm up on a lift, I'm gonna bend my offsets with my hand bender on the floor of the lift. I guess it would pay to have one sitting available on a real big job, particularly one where a man is designated to make bends and offsets as people hollar dimensions out to him. I don't see myself buying one.
