seen a few differ times!!!!!!!!!!what conductors can be located 3" from a ballast?did not say what type of ballast....

Probably any conductor rated for the voltage can be 3" from the ballast, likely only 90 deg C or higher types within 3".

Feeder and branch-circuit conductors within 75 mm (3 in.) of a ballast shall have an insulation temperature rating not lower than 90?C (194?F) unless supplying a luminaire marked as suitable for a different insulation temperature.

that is what i was thinking 90 and up--thanks for input and the article #.stupid me--them key words make a differ..........
