In the information packet I printed about taking the Florida State exam there were 20 sample questions with answers, but I think one of them is incorrect.

Question:
Wireways shall not contain more than ___ current carrying conductors at any cross section.
A)10
B) 20
C) 30
D) 50.

According to their answer sheet the correct answer is C) 30.
I cannot find this in the code book anywhere. All I can find is that you can't exceed 20% fill at any cross section.

What am I missing?

Wireways shall not contain more than ___ current carrying conductors at any cross section.

If the question was worded something like this...

"Wireways shall not contain more than ___ current carrying conductors at any cross section before applying adjustment factors."

Then the question would be OK.

376.22(B) (2008 NEC) requires that when more than 30 current carrying conductors are installed at any cross section the adjustment factors of 310.15(B)(2)(a) shall be applied to the conductors.

So if their sample question has a wrong answer, how confident should I be in the exam questions/answers?

You will find other wrong questions on the test. Live with it and hope for the best. There is an appeal process. If you fail, you can go to Gainesville and look at your test and see where you went wrong. At least in 1982 you could. I did. Passed the second time.
