Does an electronic on/off switch meet the requirement for the exception to 422.31 for a ?unit switch?
 
What do you mean by an electronic on off switch?

If you mean a control circuit switch then no as it does not disconnect the ungrounded conductor of the circuit that supplies the appliance.
