I'm from Massachusetts, I just ran a 20 amp dedicated circuit to an outlet in a bathroom. The customer know wants me to install an exhaust fan in that same bathroom. Can I simply tap off of the 20 amp circuit in the bathroom. I would normally tap off of the lighting circuit but found no grounding wire in that circuit. Thanks for your help

Yes, it's permissible by the NEC as long as that 20 amp circuit does not feed another bathroom.
It should be acceptable. Check with the AHJ if you have any questions.
