I recently came across a standard exhaust fan in the kitchen which had a manufacturer stamp on it "NOT FOR KITCHEN USE". Can anybody tell me where this came from (what code) ?

A kitchen exhaust fan would have more stringent requirements than a regular old exhaust fan due to things like cooking grease.
