In my existing home built in 1982, there was a copper water supply line and a 2" PVC sink drain directly above a 100 amp panel box. I've had a 200 amp panel box installed to replace it and the inspector is requiring that these pipes be moved because it is non-compliant with NEC 110.26. Is there anyway to get an exception? It seems to me this is not an unsafe situation and changing the location of the pipes could cause future problems. Also, I think he is ok with a new Generac disconnect switch and a new Generac PV Solar control panel. It the piping ok above those?
