I have a project with an existing electrical panel in what will become a patient care area. I know that all receptacles and other equipment need to be grounded with insulated ground wire and conduit as redundant ground, but what about this existing panel. I assume its conductors are run in PVC underground to the service entrance. This panel supplies all the receptacles, etc. in the suite.

Are there any other panels, existing or new that serve this area?

This is a very good question and one that I haven't thought about before.
I haven't seen a panel within a patient care area before.

517.13(A) Wiring Methods. . All branch circuits serving patient care areas .....

I don't see redundant grounding in 517.14. . Sounds to me like redundant grounding is only required for the circuits and not for feeders.
