I have always designed an "Electrical Room" to have TWO exits/entrances.
We now have a 20FTx20FT pre-cast concrete style building be used as a pump house with two 40HP water booster pumps, power distribution and controls.
Does this size room require two exits?
What code reference talks about this?

See 110.26(C). In general the NEC does not require 2 doors unless the electrical equipment in the room is rated over 1200 amps and is longer than 6'.

Re: Exit Doors for a Pump House

Marc,
The rule requiring two doors for electrial rooms that have equipment of 1200 amps or more and at least 6' long is in the oldest code book that I have, 1978. Note, that if you double the normally required work space depth you are permitted to have only one door.

REmember the 02 code now requires an outswinging door with panic hardware.
You should consider purchasing the nfpa nec handbook as a reference.
