Exit light code

I know the NEC (NFPA 70) covers how battery powered back up exit and emergency lights are to be wired. The building code and/or fire code covers placement.I am looking for the NFPA book (possibly 101? ) and code reference for testing (monthly and annual) for theses units. At one point I remember a reference for 89 minutes on battery, in the NFPA 70, annually?(where did 89 minutes come from other than the voices in my head).

Exit and egress

Exit and egress

Also 700.4 0f the NEC spells out testing of exit and egress. 700.12 A gives you the 90 minutes as well

The NC Fire Code states that the annual test is 90 minutes and a functional test is to be performed at 30 day intervals for not less than 30 seconds. There should also be written records of the tests kept by the owner.
