exit sign remote heads

I need to wire some remote heads from an exit sign. Can MC cable be used from the exit sign to the remote heads? Thanks for any info.

I use 12/2 or 14/2 to wire remote heads. Make sure your primary head will support a remote head.

As I read 700.16 I would say emergency lighting and emergency exit lights are permitted on the same emergency circuit. Next it becomes a wiring methods question as to whether you can use MC cable...700.12(F) permits any wiring method permitted in Chapter 3. Unless prohibited by 330.12 for being subjected to physical damage, I don't see a problem...:smile:

Remember that you're using 12VDC so Vdrop is critical. I always call for #12 and keep it SHORT!

As mentioned before by others, be very sure that the battery has the capacity for two or more remote heads!
