Exit signs and batteries

Our newly opened Medical Center had exit signs installed with a battery back up that conducts a self tests and check automatically. However it does not automatically do a required 90 minute annual battery test for egress lighting. May I mention that we do have emergency generator power that does serve all exit signs.

We do conduct and document monthly inspections of exit signs to ensure they are illuminated.

My question is: Are we required to do these 90 minute annual test as well as maintain battery life in these fixtures even though we have emergency generator power as back up?

read section 700, especially 700.4 including FPN's, see NFPA 110. I'm guessing no if it's really an emergency generator.

The battery back purpose is only for emergency condition and it is essential for every exit sign. But every Hospital has emergency generator and this generator is only for special rooms and places in hospital not for all. So, in this case it must have battery back up.
