Hello all. New to the forum.
I understand the practice and reasoning for expansion couplings emerging from grade, leaving an "S" loop as described in 300.5(J) 2017 cycle. I have to install a small section of underground from an outdoor service disconnect to service entry, pipe directly to the panel. Using PVC conduit, I am confused as to how I could use an LB emerging from grade. I would not be able to leave wire slack inside an LB, even with my expansion coupling below, if settling does occur it will pull my wire into the edge of the LB. I have some thoughts around it, a pull box below the LB with an "S" loop inside the box but I likely don't have the room to fit all the necessary components of this arrangement.
I have been told emerging from grade with pouring concrete on the pipe removes the required expansion coupling which makes since but I can't find exact code guidance on it anywhere:
How much concrete and can it just be duct bank slightly below grade for aesthetic reasons?
Obviously, GRC won't settle, so I thought, use PVC underground to a PVC female adapter, thread into the GRC to emerge from grade but does this present a code issue that the female adapter and the GRC haven't been tested together and thusly aren't permissible in this way?
Thanks in advance. Any help is extremely appreciated!
