General question asked over the phone....so I do not have any real details.

An explosion proof switch is required at an exterior location. I know they make switches for the exterior....but the question is regarding GFCI. If GFCI protection is required at outdoor locations....

....can you use an explosion proof switch along with GFCI protection? Will it continue to function properly?

Thanks.

I'm unawre of a Code requirement for GFCI protection of a switch located outdoors.

Welcome to the forum.:)

If there is anymore information that you could provide it would be very helpful.

Where are you coming up with a requirement that a switch located outdoors requires GFCI protection?

As far as if an explosion proof switch will work with GFCI protection, there should be no problem with the operation of the switch.
