I have an indoor swimming pool with pre-cast structure so all raceways have to be exposed including lighting branch circuit 30' above the swimming pool.
1) RNC PVC is permitted to use in this area? Per NEC(2002) 300.6 & 352.10, I think PVC is ok to use this location, but I was told that inspector thinks diffently. He insists that PVC is not allowed within the building because of physical damage.
2) Can EMT conduit & jbox be used for lighting branch circuitS exposed? Lighting will be 30' above the swimming pool and raceway will be painted.
3) If raceway is concealed in wall, can EMT and regular steel jbox be used in this area?
4) Anyone know who makes listed jboxes and fittings suitable for this location(metallic or nonmetallic)?
I am trying not to use PVC coated metallic raceway, if possible, because of cost.
