EXPOSED RGS

Is it code that RGS has to run exposed. I don't mean outdoors but a place where there is no ceiling. Particularly an indoor garage etc. THanks

I know spec will dictate but I was just curious. Thanks.

Actually, I guess 358.10 &12 answers my question. Yes it can.

RGS is really RMC and is under 344. It can be used anywhere.

EMT is 358.

If RGS can not be exposed what do you propose to use for an exposed wiring method that will take more abuse than RGS besides maybe IMC?

Well EMT is spelled differently from RGS and gives most of us a different image in our minds of the product you are talking about if you spell it the way you did.:lol:

I've run miles of EMT exposed indoors. In a parking garage, however, that may be a different story. If it is exposed to severe physical damage (like being hit by cars) it can't be used.

RMC has no such limitation.
